Zahid's Chem Clinic issues this statement to address recent false and malicious allegations circulating regarding the personal tax compliance of Md Zahidul Islam, Founder of Zahid's Chen Clinic and a Top 50 Finalist for the 2026 Global Teacher Prize, an international award administered by the Varkey Foundation, in collaboration with UNESCO.
Following the public announcement of Mr. Islam's recognition as a Global Teacher Prize finalist, certain individuals have attempted to disseminate unverified and defamatory claims alleging irregularities in his tax filings. These allegations are entirely false, unfounded, and unsupported by any factual or legal basis.
Mr. Islam has at all times complied fully with the tax laws and regulatory requirements of Bangladesh. All relevant financial records and documentation are properly maintained and available for review by the appropriate authorities. No govern-ment body or competent authority has raised any objection, inquiry, or adverse finding against him in this regard. It is further clarified that prior to the public announcement of Mr. Islam's recognition as a Global Teacher Prize finalist, all routine background and verification checks, including criminal record clearance conducted in the ordinary course, reflect-ed no complaint, case, or adverse finding against him. The allegations currently being circulated arose only subsequent to the public announcement of this international recognition.
Zahid's Chem Clinic further confirms that an individual identifying as a journalist approached Mr. Islam with an explicit demand for money in exchange for suppressing publication of these false allegations. Mr. Islam categorically refused to engage in any such unlawful or unethical conduct. Zahid's Chem Clinic condemns all forms of extortion, blackmail, and paid misinformation, and reserves the right to pursue appropriate legal remedies should defamatory content be pub-lished.
